Job summary

Creative Dining Services in Cleveland, GA is seeking a Cook to join the Dining Services Department. The role requires preparing high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious meals and supporting the team to run a fiscally responsible kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• ServSafe Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Time food production so meals are ready at the time of service.
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus while preserving freshness and quality.
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over- or under-production.
• Utilize safe food handling techniques at all times.
• Store and label food items according to standards; use proper dating.
• Hold prepared items at safe temperatures (below 40° for cold, above 135° for hot).
• Maintain logs for temperatures and kitchen conditions.
• Keep a clean and sanitized work area at all times.
• Open/close the kitchen and secure equipment as needed for shift start/end.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and well-organized kitchen environment.
• Communicate needs to supervisor promptly; report discrepancies in equipment.
• Assist with ordering and inventory procedures.
• Remove refuse and manage stock as required.
