Job summary

American Sugar Refining in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation systems. You will read ladder logic, P&IDs and process diagrams, troubleshoot controllers and IO modules, and use computers and handheld tools to calibrate instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, calibrate and test electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation systems.
• Read ladder logic, P&IDs, one-line drawings and process flow diagrams to diagnose issues.
• Troubleshoot electronic controllers, IO systems and control modules.
• Access and read control systems via computer and handheld controllers for calibration.
• Work from sketches and drawings to install components per code requirements.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Works from sketches and drawings, plans and installs electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation systems and components to applicable code requirements.
• Installs, maintains, repairs, replaces, calibrates, tests and troubleshoots all manner of instruments, electrical devices, pneumatics, valves, switches, control panels and control systems.
• Reads and demonstrates an understanding of ladder logic, P&IDs, one-line electrical drawings, process flow diagrams, and instrument service manuals.
• Reads, troubleshoots, identifies functions, and identifies inputs and outputs, and applications of electronic controller and control modules.
• Uses a computer to access, read, and troubleshoot control and IO systems. Uses handheld controllers to calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience or 4 year degree or equivalent military training and experience is required.
