The Opportunity
We're looking for an Experienced Commercial Interior Designer to join our team - someone who brings creativity, strong technical expertise, and the confidence to take ownership of design responsibilities from concept through completion.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded design professional who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of commercial interior design. You'll play an important role in developing design concepts, creating detailed drawings and presentations, selecting and specifying FF&E, managing design budgets, collaborating with clients and project teams, and supporting projects through construction administration and installation.
We're looking for someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively, and contribute their experience to delivering thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.
What You’ll Do: Design Development & Project Coordination
- Develop and refine design concepts, space plans, finish selections, and presentations that align with project goals and client expectations.
- Produce and coordinate comprehensive design drawings and construction documentation using Revit and AutoCAD, from schematic design through construction administration.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, architects, consultants, and internal teams to maintain design consistency and quality throughout each project.
- Manage multiple design assignments while meeting project schedules, deliverables, and quality expectations.
FF&E Selection, Specification & Budgeting
- Develop comprehensive FF&E selections, including furniture, fabrics, artwork, accessories, lighting, and other design elements.
- Prepare detailed FF&E specifications, furniture cost estimates, and job cost worksheets that align with approved project budgets.
- Coordinate with Procurement to address product availability, substitutions, reselections, and installation requirements.
- Balance design intent, functionality, quality, and budget throughout the selection process.
Client Presentations & Collaboration
- Develop and confidently present design concepts, finish selections, and FF&E packages to clients.
- Communicate design recommendations clearly and professionally, incorporating client feedback while maintaining design integrity.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external project partners to keep projects moving forward.
- Participate in construction administration, including reviewing RFIs and submittals, attending project meetings, and conducting site visits.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Procurement to resolve design-related issues during construction and installation.
- Participate in project walk-throughs, punch list reviews, and installations to help ensure the completed project meets design expectations.
- Travel to project locations as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 7 years of professional commercial interior design experience, preferably in multifamily, hospitality, or related commercial environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit is required, including the ability to independently develop, modify, and coordinate commercial interior design drawings and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and PowerPoint.
- Strong design development, space planning, material selection, and FF&E specification experience.
- Experience preparing and managing FF&E budgets, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage design responsibilities across multiple projects, from concept through construction administration and installation.
- Confidence leading client presentations and communicating with architects, consultants, and project teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional design work.
- Willingness to travel for project meetings, site visits, and installations as needed.
