Job summary

E.L. Electrical Contracting is seeking an Experienced Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Michigan. The role supports commercial projects across Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, and Wayne Counties, with the main office in Auburn Hills.

You will install wiring, conduit, panels, and lighting while following strict safety protocols. Applicants must have a valid Michigan Apprenticeship License, own tools, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State of Michigan Apprenticeship License.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Personal hand tools, work boots, hard hat; clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical wiring, conduit, and raceways for commercial buildings.
• Assist with lighting systems including LED and emergency lighting.
• Install and wire electrical panels, breakers, and control systems.
• Maintain job site safety and compliance with protocols.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics for accurate installations.
• Mentor junior apprentices on job sites.
• Assist with material ordering and organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Wiring & Conduit Installation: Installing electrical wiring, raceways, and conduit systems for commercial buildings
• Lighting Systems: Assisting in installing various lighting systems, including LED, fluorescent, and emergency lighting
• Electrical Panels & Circuit Breakers: Installing and wiring electrical panels, breakers, and other control systems
• Job Site Safety: Ensuring safety protocols are followed and the job site is hazard‑free
• Interpreting Plans: Working from electrical blueprints and schematics to ensure proper installations
• Mentoring Junior Apprentices: Helping to guide and mentor less experienced apprentices
• Material Management: Assisting with the ordering and organizing of materials for the job
