University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Telemetry/Thoracic & Cardiovascular Unit. The role supports complex procedures such as esophagectomies and vascular interventions with high acuity post-operative care.

Requirements include a Nursing degree, active Texas RN license, and at least 12 months of relevant experience in medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU settings. Night shifts are available (7p–7a or 7a–7p) with 36 hours/week.

Qualifications

As a Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center work within the Telemetry / Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, which provides care to individuals undergoing complex procedures such as esophagectomies, pneumonectomies, pulmonary resections, and vascular interventions. This role supports a high acuity environment where specialized post operative care and continuous monitoring are essential.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an active RN license, and at least 12 months of recent experience in a medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU setting.

Minimum $68,000 - Midpoint $105,200 - Maximum $142,500

Shifts available are nights. Shift Hours: 7p - 7a or 7a - 7p including rotating holidays and weekends required. There are 3 x 12 hour shifts for a total of 36 hours per week.

Patient Care Management

• Assess patient needs and determine required nursing and multidisciplinary interventions

Collaboration & Care Planning

• Access, input, and retrieve information from electronic systems

Coaching & Team Support

• Participate in assisting team workflow and patient care priorities

Research & Quality Improvement

• Integrate findings from research studies into practice
• Participate in data collection for ongoing studies

Education

• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

Other Requirements:

All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
