Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist for on-site pruning and removal services in Colma, CA. The role involves climbing trees, working with a crew, and performing safe, skillful tree care including pruning, removal, cable and brace installations, and hazard removal.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates if state law requires it.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using Davey climbing systems (DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS).
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain all tools and equipment.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
