Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking arborist professionals for on-site roles in Maitland, FL. This permanent, full-time position offers an hourly wage between $28.00 and $32.00 based on experience, with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

The role requires tree climbing and rigging experience, along with a CDL preferred. You will work with a crew to prune, remove, and safeguard trees using industry-standard techniques and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with tree climbing, rigging and use of cranes.
• Preferred CDL Class A or B license.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Willingness to complete Davey Tree orientation and safety courses upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees and limbs to improve health and safety.
• Operate climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS) as part of crew.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to complete pruning and removal tasks.
• Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

What You'll Do

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

What We're Looking For

• Love of the outdoors
• Required: Experience with tree climbing, rigging and use of cranes
• Preferred: Class A or B CDL
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
