Primoris Heavy Civil in Golden Meadow, LA is seeking a skilled Carpenter to work on heavy civil construction projects, focusing on concrete forms, structural framing, and general carpentry tasks. The role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork in outdoor environments.

You will read blueprints, measure and cut materials, install forms and scaffolding, and collaborate with other trades to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Carpenter in heavy civil construction.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction techniques.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project specifications and layout.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials according to specifications, using hand and power tools.
• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
• Build concrete forms for foundations, columns, beams, and other structural elements, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
• Install blocking, furring, and bracing as required.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Work safely and efficiently, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure project milestones are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
