Job summary

Actalent in Glen Allen, VA seeks a CAD Technician to prepare detailed survey plats and maps—boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys—and to manage projects from data processing through CAD production in a fast-paced environment. You will use Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting, with exposure to MicroStation GeoPak/OpenRoads welcomed.

The role includes occasional field support and travel within Virginia and surrounding states, collaborating with field crews and office

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of surveying-related experience.
• Proficient with Carlson for survey and CAD production; strong AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting skills.
• Familiarity with agency standards (VDOT, USACE, NAVFAC) and courthouse research.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed survey plats and maps for boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys.
• Ensure drawings meet agency requirements and project schedules.
• Manage projects from data processing to CAD production; track progress and maintain data integrity.
• Perform courthouse research to obtain deeds, plats, and land records.
• Process field data into accurate CAD files; maintain organized project records.
