At Communications Construction Group, as an Experienced Cable Foreman, you will provide guidance and coordinate activities of an aerial line construction crew. You will document work performed by crew members, ensuring installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment are completed safely, timely, and accurately.

What you’ll do as an Aerial Cable Foreman

  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
  • Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
  • Ensure plant construction meets industry standards, is reliable, and completed in a timely, cost-efficient manner
  • Assist in training inexperienced employees to become linemen
  • Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders safely
  • Maintain safe working conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies

What you’ll need

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience as a cable/telecommunications lineman
  • Ability to perform all telecommunications construction duties (pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, lash, strand construction)
  • Experience working in bucket trucks and climbing poles
  • Ability to climb utility poles and work aloft up to 40 feet

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, wind)
