Position Title: Experienced Boatyard Hand / Equipment Operator

Compensation/Rate: $20-$30 / Hour

Safe Harbor Kittery Point has two waterfront facilities in Kittery and Eliot, Maine, servicing, repairing, and storing power and sailing vessels ranging from 18' to over 50'. We are seeking an experienced Yard Hand / Equipment Operator to join our team. The role involves moving, hauling, and launching vessels, along with supporting various tasks to meet the service department's objectives. Opportunities for skill development within boatyard and marina operations are available. Basic boat handling skills are required; ability to operate power and sail vessels is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, travelifts, and hydraulic trailers to move, haul, and launch boats.
  2. Operate machinery efficiently and safely, demonstrating proper vessel handling.
  3. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  4. Perform general boat maintenance such as pressure washing, buffing & waxing, bottom painting, zinc replacement, etc.
  5. Maintain grounds, facilities, and marina cleanliness.

Additional requirements:

  • Availability to work overtime when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and assist team members as needed.
