Job summary

Crystal Springs, Inc. in Assonet, MA is seeking an Experienced Behavior Specialist to support students with disabilities in a residential setting. You will develop positive therapeutic environments and model intervention strategies for direct care staff to implement effectively.

In this on-site role, you will respond to behavioral emergencies, participate in assessment activities with clinical teams, and help with appointments and community activities while complying with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience with people with special needs or in residential care.
  • Experience in PBS, trauma-informed care, and ABA strategies.
  • CPR, First Aid, and non-violent physical intervention certifications required or must be obtained within 3 months.
  • Active driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn other software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positive therapeutic environments aligned with behavior analysis.
  • Provide on-site modeling, role-playing, and coaching to direct care staff.
  • Respond to behavioral emergencies; may involve physical restraint for safety.
  • Assist with student appointments and off-site activities; support individualized treatment.

  • Role: Experienced Behavior Specialist
  • Location: Assonet, MA
  • Pay: This full-time psychology position offers a competitive salary.
  • Schedule: This full-time role entails a variable schedule to meet departmental needs. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Your Day-to-Day:

In the role of Experienced Behavior Specialist, your day will focus on developing positive therapeutic environments that align with best practices in behavior analysis. You will provide on-site modeling, role-playing, and coaching to direct care staff to enhance their implementation of effective intervention strategies. Your responsibilities will include responding to behavioral emergencies to ensure the safety of students and staff, which may involve participating in physical restraint procedures when necessary. Additionally, you will assist with student appointments and off-site activities, facilitating individualized treatment and community integration. Collaboratively, you will engage with clinical teams in conducting preference assessments and functional behavior assessments, managing behavior data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience working with people with special needs or in a residential care setting
  • Experience in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Trauma-Informed Care, and ABA strategies
  • CPR, First Aid, and non-violent physical intervention certifications (must be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained during employment)
  • Active driver's license in the state of residence that is current, valid, and in good standing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and use other software related to the position
