Summary/Objective

An Automotive Technician will perform repair work and maintenance for cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles.

Summary

An Automotive Technician demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, extensive automotive knowledge, diagnostic skills, and a passion for quality work and customer service. They exercise discretion and judgment to support daily operations and uphold safety standards.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, maintenance, safety, or other needs.
  2. Complete repairs and maintenance efficiently, including engine, brake, suspension repairs, and more.
  3. Use diagnostic equipment and systems to troubleshoot automotive issues accurately.
  4. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
  5. Ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  6. Perform quality checks and test drives to verify repairs.
  7. Report safety concerns or additional service needs promptly to management.
  8. Perform test drives following company policies and safety laws.
  9. Maintain accurate inspection records per procedures.
  10. Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs and estimates.
  11. Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism.
  12. Collaborate with team members for efficient service delivery.
  13. Assist and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
  14. Follow safety policies and promote a safe work environment.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  16. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
  17. Support management in business planning and initiatives.
  18. Foster a positive team culture and support employee development.
  19. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Active, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; automotive training preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Industry knowledge and certifications like ASE preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and a clean driving record.

Position Details

Full-time, onsite, minimum 32 hours/week, with variable hours including weekends. Up to 25% travel between locations, with occasional overnight stays.
