Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking an Audit Associate in Houston to join our growing Audit and Assurance practice. You will deliver audit and other assurance services for privately held and publicly traded clients across development stages, contributing to client service and technical accounting growth.

You will grow professionally through mentoring, on-the-job coaching, and firm-wide learning programs, with opportunities for career progression within a leading CPA advisory firm.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required; CPA exam eligibility is preferred.
• Outstanding academic performance preferred with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate time management, communication, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various assurance services.
• Proactively engage with clients to gather information and respond to questions.
• Perform substantive testing of balance sheets and income statements.
• Test internal controls and discuss improvement recommendations.
• Learn through on-the-job coaching and firm-wide learning programs.

Education

4-year degree, License eligible

• Proactively engage with your clients throughout the year to gather needed information to complete testing and respond to questions raised
• Perform substantive testing on client\'s balance sheets and income statements
• Test for deficiencies of internal controls and discussing recommendations for improvement

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-year degree, License eligible
• 1 year of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in accounting or a related degree in business, with sufficient course work and credits to sit for the CPA exam in the state you are being considered
• Outstanding academic performance required, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
• Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel
• Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and pr
