Job summary

Avalon Family Veterinary Hospital in Orlando, Florida is seeking an experienced associate veterinarian to join a collaborative team and practice medicine with clinical autonomy and support from skilled technicians.

You’ll handle wellness, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and case management with flexible scheduling, no overnight or on-call duties, and a strong emphasis on work–life balance. Competitive compensation includes 20% production and up to a $50,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program.
• Active Florida veterinary license or ability to obtain.
• DEA licensure or eligibility to obtain.
• Previous small-animal clinical experience.
• Comfortable with general medicine, dentistry, and surgery.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to connect with clients.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the people around you.

Responsibilities

• See the whole patient — provide preventive care, diagnose illness, develop treatment plans, and follow cases through.
• Keep your surgical skills active — perform general soft-tissue procedures and dentistry as part of your regular caseload.
• Use your clinical judgment — interpret diagnostics and make thoughtful decisions based on what7s best for each patient.
• Build relationships, not just appointments — get to know your clients and become the veterinarian families trust throughout their pet's life.
• Lean on your team when you need them — collaborate with fellow doctors, technicians, assistants, visiting specialists, and referral partners.
• Be there for the hard moments too — guide families with compassion through difficult diagnoses and end-of-life decisions.
• Keep excellent records — document care clearly and practice in accordance with veterinary medical and ethical standards.
