OHLA USA in Miami, FL is seeking an Asphalt Screed Operator to join our Paving team. You will expertly lay asphalt, manage screed operations, and collaborate with crew to meet schedules.

The role requires 3-5 years of paving screed experience, strong knowledge of paving techniques, and the ability to operate and maintain screed equipment. Candidates must pass safety and drug tests and be able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Screed Operator in paving operations.
• Strong understanding of paving techniques, materials, and equipment operation.
• Proficiency in operating screed controls and performing basic equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate Screed Controls: Manage the screed controls to ensure the proper depth, grade, and finish of asphalt and other paving materials.
• Monitor Material Flow: Ensure a consistent and even flow of material from the hopper to the screed, adjusting as necessary to maintain a smooth surface.
• Quality Control: Continuously monitor the paving process to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications and standards.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the screed and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
• Communication: Work closely with the paving crew, foreman, and project superintendent to coordinate efforts and ensure project timelines are met.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the paving process to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Other job duties as assigned per on-site supervisor.
