Pave America is seeking a dependable Asphalt Crew Laborer to support paving projects on roads, driveways, and lots. The role is physically demanding and requires teamwork, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic. Falls under outdoors, varying weather, and long hours as needed.

You will assist with surface prep, laying, and finishing asphalt, and help ensure quality and efficiency on each job site while adhering to safety guidelines and foreman directions.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in asphalt paving or construction preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of road and traffic regulations.
• Comfortable with physical labor and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of surfaces for paving (sweeping, cleaning, applying tack coat, etc.).
• Shovel, rake, and level hot mix asphalt.
• Operate hand tools and small equipment (plate compactors, tampers, brooms).
• Support the paving machine by feeding asphalt and maintaining a consistent workflow.
• Ensure proper compaction and smoothness of asphalt during and after application.
• Maintain a clean and safe work zone by clearing debris and following safety guidelines.
• Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment at the job site.
• Perform daily equipment and tool checks and maintenance as needed.
• Direct traffic near, in, or around work zones.

Qualifications/Requirements -

• Prior experience in asphalt paving or construction preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
• Comfortable with physical labor and standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Drivers License preferred.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
• Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area.
