Job summary

WSP seeks an Experienced Architect / Architectural Designer to join the Industrial Center of the Property & Buildings team. The role can sit in Boise, Minneapolis, or Atlanta.

You will work with architects, engineers, and PMs to plan, design, and deliver industrial and advanced facilities projects, developing conceptual designs, drawings, renderings, and construction documents. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of professional architectural design experience
  • Experience supporting building design projects from concept through construction documentation
  • Working knowledge of architectural principles, construction methods, building systems, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and regulations
  • Strong creative thinking, visualization, and technical drawing skills
  • Experience preparing drawings, renderings, and presentation materials
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
  • Ability to occasionally travel based on project requirements
  • Master's Degree in Architecture or a related field (preferred)
  • Progress toward architectural licensure or interest in pursuing licensure (preferred)

  • Exposure to sustainable design principles and LEED projects (preferred)
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary consulting environment (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural drawings, renderings, and design documentation for a variety of building projects.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing project information from site visits, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, maps, and other sources.
  • Support architectural design efforts for new construction, renovations, and facility improvement projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and other project team members to support project objectives and schedules.
  • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design tools to develop design solutions and construction documentation.
  • Perform site visits and field observations to document existing conditions and support project development.
  • Assist with code research and project documentation to help ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Prepare reports, sketches, visualizations, and 2D/3D models to communicate design concepts and project requirements.
  • Support quality control efforts by reviewing drawings and project documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with coordinating information between clients, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Conduct research on materials, building systems, sustainability initiatives, and design alternatives to support project goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of industrial and building projects.
  • Stay current with architectural technologies, design trends, and industry best practices.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

This Opportunity

WSP, an award-winning and innovative multi-disciplinary firm, is currently seeking an Experienced Architect / Architectural Designer to join the Industrial Center of our Property & Buildings team. This individual can sit in our Boise, Minneapolis, or Atlanta office.

As part of our growing organization committed to solving complex challenges and exceeding client expectations, you will work alongside experienced architects, engineers, and project managers to support the planning, design, and delivery of industrial and advanced facilities projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of project types while developing your technical, design, and project coordination skills in a collaborative environment.

In this role, you will assist with project visualization and help prepare design concepts, drawings, renderings, and construction documents. You will contribute to the development of creative and practical design solutions while gaining experience with building systems, construction methods, and project delivery processes. All work will be performed under the guidance of senior team members and in accordance with established standards for quality, safety, and functionality.

Your Impact
