Job summary

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for Forest Glen Apartments in Silver Spring, MD. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience, including appliance repairs, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drywall and painting.

HVAC & CFC certifications are a plus but not required. The role covers all technical matters for general apartment maintenance, assists with turnover work, and participates in the after-hours on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Energetic, self-motivated individual who is able to work as a team.
• Must have previous experience with apartment maintenance; ex. appliance troubleshooting, drywall, and painting.
• Plumbing experience is desired.
• HVAC/CFC Certification is preferred but not required
• Must be able to understand and oversee work performed by contractors
• Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
• Must have reliable transportation and possess a valid driver's license
• Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
• Must be able and willing to work weekends and be part of an on‑call rotation

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for all technical matters related to general apartment maintenance.
• In addition to technical maintenance tickets, this position will assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation.
