Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is hiring for a Corporate Accounting role in Alabama. You will perform revenue accounting activities, communicate monthly results to stakeholders, and maintain the general ledger with strict internal controls.

The position requires a BS in accounting/finance, 2+ years of corporate accounting experience (healthcare preferred), and proficiency with Excel, Access, SQL, and Office tools. Healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.
• 2+ years of experience in corporate accounting or finance; healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite; PeopleSoft Hyperion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility related revenue accounting activities within prescribed time schedules and guidelines.
• Pro-actively communicate with stakeholders on monthly financial results and answer questions about said results as necessary.
• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform and summarize variance analysis for patient revenue and accounts receivable, with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert.
• Prepare and resolve outstanding issues on assigned account reconciliations.
• Field and assess ad-hoc requests, producing clear and concise reports for stakeholders.
• Review the work of others for appropriate documentation and accounting guidelines.
• Support and drive Team/Company initiatives.
• Contribute to the identification/prioritization of business/process solutions and plan/execute testing scripts to validate solutions meet business requirements.
• Understand and maintain strict adherence to internal controls over financial reporting.
