Job summary

Caruso is seeking an experienced 26ft box truck driver for 3rd shift at our Columbus, OH location. The Route Driver represents the company and ensures safe operation of a CMV while picking up and dropping off items to customers to deliver an excellent service experience.

Weekend work is required, with an emphasis on professionalism and strong customer relationships. You will load, unload, and deliver items per customer specifications, follow routes and schedules, maintain logs, and adhere to DOT

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to work 3rd shift.
• Must have at least 12 months of verifiable 18ft-26ft box truck driving experience in the last 3 years.
• A good driving record including no reckless driving, no DUI/OMVI, no hit and run, no excessive speed (15+ mph over), and no more than two moving violations in the last 24 months.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work and drive in all types of weather.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company provided CMV.
• Deliver products to customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
• Follow routes and time schedule.
• Load, unload, and deliver to customer specifications and obtain required customer sign offs.
• Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers.
• Review and verify invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
• Complete DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports).
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain delivery logs and records.

Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA. We are looking for experienced Box Truck Drivers to pick up DSD Routes in between 6pm and 8pm. Weekend work is required.

Job Summary

The Route Driver is the face of the company and must always project a professional and positive image of Caruso while maintaining and building excellent customer relationships. This person is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle and safely pick up and drop off items to customers so that the customer is given an excellent service experience. This person must maintain compliance with all company policies/procedures and DOT regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Operate a company provided CMV.
• Deliver products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
• Follows routes and time schedule.
• Load, unload, and deliver to customer specifications and obtain required customer sign offs.
• Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers.

Requirements

• 1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 2. Must be able to work 3rd shift
• 3. Must have at least 12 months of verifiable 18ft-26ft box truck driving experience in the last 3 years.
• 4. A good driving record including none of the following:
  • Reckless driving
  • DUI/OMVI
  • Hit and Run
  • Excessive Speed as defined by DOT (15+ miles over)
  • No more than two moving violations within the last 24 months.
• 5. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• 6. Ability to work and drive in all types of weather.
• 7. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• 8. Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled.

Benefits include

• Pay up to $26.00 per hour depending on experience and license type.
