Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking an Experience Ambassador to act as a consumer advocate and liaison between patients, visitors, physicians and care teams. You will help ensure a positive patient experience by addressing concerns and communicating hospital policies and services.

You will perform patient rounding to collect feedback, report trends, and support families in crisis while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3–4 years experience in a customer-oriented position.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, visible environment while maintaining a professional and confident demeanor in stressful situations.
• Highly resourceful, efficient, and organized with excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, problem-solving, and service recovery skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consumer advocate and liaison between patients/visitors and physicians and team members.
• Capture feedback through proactive patient rounding and report trends impacting the patient experience.
• Address consumer complaints using service recovery methods and safeguard patient rights.
• Communicate hospital policies, procedures, and services.
• Provide support to families in crisis and perform all functions of the Experience Coordinator.

The Experience Ambassador serves as a consumer advocate and liaison between patients/visitors and physicians and team members. This position captures feedback through proactive patient rounding and reports trends impacting the patient experience. The Experience Ambassador utilizes his/her resourcefulness, interpersonal and communication skills, and service recovery methods to address consumer complaints. This position communicates hospital policies, procedures, and services and safeguards patient rights. The Experience Ambassador provides support to families in crisis and performs all of the functions of the Experience Coordinator.

The hours for this position will be 12:00pm to 8:30pm, 3 days per week.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• 3-4 years experience in a customer-oriented position.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, visible environment while maintaining a professional and confident demeanor in stressful situations
• Highly resourceful, efficient, and organized with excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, problem-solving, and service recovery skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Associates and/or Bachelor's degree.
• Patient Advocacy Certification.
• Bilingual a plus.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• NJ Notary Public within 6 months of entering position.
