Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a dedicated Material Handler in Huntsville to support the Jemison Tube Shop. You will expedite material flow, maintain shop organization, and partner with Production Control, Suppliers, and Warehouse to ensure timely availability of tube stock and fittings for manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have attention to detail, can lift up to 40 lbs, and are comfortable working with ERP systems and lifting equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving are essential.
• Ability to work on a production floor and verify hardware/material across multiple work centers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain real-time awareness of hardware, raw material, and fittings across the Tube Shop.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support the Jemison Tube Shop by expediting material flow, maintaining shop organization, and partnering with Production Control, Suppliers, and the Warehouse to ensure sufficient inventory of raw material (tube stock) and fittings to keep the shop running on schedule. Responsibilities

• Maintain real-time physical and system-level awareness of hardware, raw material, and fittings location, status, and readiness across the Tube Shop.
• Proactively identify at-risk, stalled, low, or missing material/fittings before it impacts the build schedule.
• Partner with Production Control to monitor demand, kit work orders, and coordinate material movement between work centers, suppliers, and the warehouse.
• Coordinate with Suppliers and the Warehouse team to track incoming raw material (tube stock) and fittings, expedite orders, and resolve shortages.
• Pull, stage, and deliver kitted material/fittings to the appropriate work center per work order requirements.
• Perform cycle counts and support accurate inventory record-keeping for raw material and fittings.
• Assemble/disassemble furniture, tooling carts, and other shop equipment using hand tools.
• Perform general housekeeping — sweeping, mopping, cleaning machines and work areas — and support the shop's 5S initiatives.
• Perform basic shop maintenance (e.g., checking coolant levels, emptying chip barrels, restocking consumables).
• Safely handle hardware and material using overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts (as qualified/certified).
• Review work order documentation to verify correct material issue, part counts, and tie-in information.
• Package accepted hardware/material for storage or shipment.
• Follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE (protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, etc.).
• Perform other tasks as directed by Supervision/Management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues.
• Ability to work on a production floor, including standing, walking, and physically verifying hardware/material across multiple work centers throughout a full shift.
• Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment/machinery for heavier material.
• Basic inventory/material-tracking aptitude; comfortable working with counts, part numbers, and locations.
• Strong work ethic, proven ability to follow direction, and meet expectations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface and coordinate with Production Control, Suppliers, and Warehouse personnel.
• Ability to interface with software systems, databases (e.g., ERP/inventory systems), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, packing slips, drawings, and safety regulations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

• Experience in an aerospace manufacturing, tube shop, or fast-paced R&D environment.
• Experience with production control, expediting, or warehouse/inventory functions.
• Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Familiarity with raw material/fittings used in tube fabrication (e.g., stainless tube stock, orbital weld fittings).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to change.
