Job summary

ONeil Digital Solutions (ODS) is seeking a Shipping Expeditor I to handle packaging, weighing and labeling of printed material for shipping to clients by mail, FedEx, DHL or UPS.

The role requires basic computer and Excel skills, plus the ability to read and interpret instructions. Prior experience with pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus, and candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Able to read and interpret operation and maintenance documents.
• Experience with pallet jack or forklift is a plus.
• Basic computer and Excel knowledge required.
• Familiarity with mail software and mail-house processes is a plus.
• Experience with shipping carriers and mail entry requirements is beneficial.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble specified number of items and cartons as indicated by instructions.
• Attach shipping labels and instructions onto packages.
• Provide required reports and shipping logs.
• Process outgoing shipments into computerized shipping systems.
• Communicate with the Shipping Manager about the company’s needs and requirements.
• Create and ensure the accuracy of packing slips.
• Safely operate lift trucks or pallet jacks to move shipments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

$20 Hourly, +Shift Differential

Summary

The Shipping Expeditor I is responsible for packaging, weighing and labeling of printed material for shipping to clients by mail, FedEx, DHL or UPS indicated by instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assembles specified number of items and cartons for each addressee as indicated by instructions
• Attaches identifying information and shipping instructions onto packages
• Provides required reports and shipping logs
• Processes outgoing shipments into computerized shipping systems
• Communicates with the Shipping Manager about the company’s needs and requirements
• Creates and ensures the accuracy of packing slips
• Performs routine quality control functions on print and postal report files created to ensure that specifications are correct and items are shipped on time
• Safely operates lift trucks or other material handling equipment and pallet jacks to move, convey or hoist shipments
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School graduate, or completion of GED preferred
• This position requires an individual who is technically and mechanically oriented. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operation and maintenance instructions
• Prior experience operating an electrical pallet jack and forklift truck is a plus
• Must posess basic computer and excel knowledge
• Experience with BCC Software/Mail Manager and understanding of mail barcodes, mail house, presort and co-mingling a plus
• Knowledge of computer shipping systems or basic software aptitude a plus
• Experience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and business mail entry requirements a plus
• Meticulous administrative and organizational skills
• Experience in the printing industry a plus but not required
• Able to listen effectively and adapt to changing conditions
• Be flexible with hours and work days

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
