Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking an Expeditor to keep production moving on the shop floor. The role coordinates priorities, resolves material and labor constraints, and communicates job status across production teams.

You will help maintain workflow, support recovery plans for delayed orders, and push work-in-process to meet delivery commitments. Must have a high school diploma and ERP experience; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Understanding of routings, travelers, and shop floor operations.
• Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Ability to assist with process improvement.
• Ability to work directly with operators and supervisors.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Forklift certification; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Moves parts through the shop floor based on completed job operations.
• Expedites jobs delayed by material, labor, tooling, or quality issues.

• Reports completed operations promptly in the ERP system and ensures travelers are properly stamped.
• Communicates job status updates to the Production Control Planning Team.
• Supports recovery plans for late or high-priority orders.

• Identifies production bottlenecks and escalates issues that may impact delivery.

This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking for at least 8 hours.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds, typically 35 pounds.
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.
• Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands.
• Occasional ascending and descending stairs or ramps.
