Job summary

LEE Industries in Conover, NC is seeking an Expeditor to coordinate between customer service, production, purchasing and shipping. You will relay order status, locate orders, and expedite urgent items to meet delivery commitments.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, with a Monday–Friday schedule and morning shifts. Candidates should be able to work in a climate-controlled facility and handle a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous expediting or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Communicating between customer service and manufacturing.
• Notifying manufacturing departments and customer service of any delays in the manufacturing process.
• Work closely with purchasing and receiving to expedite missing or late supplies to keep orders on time.
• Updating information in the AS400 system.
• Providing status updates to Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager.
• All other duties as assigned.

DEPARTMENT: Upholstery Shipping

FLSA: Non-Exempt HOURLY Pay

SCHEDULE: Monday Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Friday 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Overtime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and may vary on a weekly basis

SUMMARY:

Position provides all aspects of being the liaison between customer service, plant production/manufacturing, purchasing and shipping. Providing accurate information regarding order status details, locating orders, assist the through-put of orders and expediting orders that need immediate attention.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicating between customer service and manufacturing

• Notifying manufacturing departments and customer service of any delays in the manufacturing process
• Work close with purchasing and receiving to expedite missing or late supplies that may hold up a completion of an order on time
• Updating information in the AS400 system
• Providing status updates to Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager
• All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions
• Able to organize workload for timely accomplishment of work/deadlines
• Possess strong office skills including use of computer, run and create reports
• Knowledge of furniture manufacturing from beginning to end process understanding the production flow

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
