Heartland Dental LLC-supported Greenwood Family Dentistry in Greenwood, IN is expanding its team for an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) at our upcoming state-of-the-art facility. We seek a licensed EFDA with Indiana Radiology license or eligible, and at least 1 year of chairside experience to support dentists with four-handed dentistry, x-rays, Dentrix, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Indiana Radiology License required.
• EFDA program or on-the-job training required.
• 1+ year of chairside clinical experience.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.

Responsibilities

• Greet and educate patients throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and charting.
• Prepare treatment rooms per OSHA & CDC safety protocols.
• Manage supplies and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.

More about the role

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
• Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and clinical charting
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
• Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
• Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Experience Needed:

• Indiana Radiology License
• EFDA program or on the job training
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• 1+ year of chairside clinical experience
• Experience working with a dental software, such as Dentrix

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication skills and patient focused mindset
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Ability to facilitate patient flow throughout the office

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year

This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
