Dental Smile Professionals in Dayton, OH is seeking a skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our collaborative practice. This full-time role offers a 4-day work week (Mon–Thu), with opportunities for mentorship and growth within a supportive team.

Responsibilities include placing and finishing restorative materials, chairside assisting, radiographic imaging, and maintaining infection control protocols. Ohio EFDA certification and radiography license are required.

• Current CPR / BLS Certification.

• Place, contour, and finish restorative materials; perform coronal polishing; and apply dental sealants.
• Provide proactive, efficient chairside assistance across a comprehensive variety of general and restorative procedures.
• Expose and process high-quality digital dental radiographs with attention to patient comfort and diagnostic accuracy.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize dental instruments, and maintain clinical equipment in strict adherence to OSHA, CDC, and infection control standards.
• Chart treatments and educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Active Ohio Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification.
• Active Ohio Dental Radiography License.
• Current CPR / BLS Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on EFDA clinical experience (motivated candidates ready to learn are welcome to apply).
• Proficiency with dental terminology, restorative procedures, and clinical operatory flow.
• Experience with Open Dental practice management software (willing to train).
• Dependable work ethic, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to patient care.
