Job summary

Star Dental in Denver is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to support high-quality care for patients of all ages. The EDDA works closely with dentists to maintain safe, organized and comfortable appointments while adhering to Colorado law and training boundaries.

Responsibilities include four-handed chairside assistance, radiography within legal limits, sealants, coronal polishing and record-keeping. Some weekend shifts are required at the Denver office.

Qualifications

• Documented expanded-duties training appropriate to assigned functions.
• Colorado radiography training or qualification required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures and turnover.
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance for preventive, restorative and emergency care.
• Perform expanded duties as delegated and within training and Colorado law.
• Take radiographs only after meeting Colorado requirements.
• Apply sealants when trained and supervised according to Colorado law.
• Polish coronal surfaces under supervision and assist with scans.
• Document patient histories and update charts without diagnosing.
• Fabricate provisional restorations within trained scope.
• Follow infection-control and safety protocols.
• Explain procedures and post-op care, ensuring patient comfort.
• Maintain organized operatories and assist with supplies.
