Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Miner I Tech 3 or higher to join our Exodus Underground Operations teams. The role emphasizes safe operation of equipment and strict adherence to Loss Control and environmental policies, with emphasis on teamwork and compliance with H&S regulations.

The position requires performing pre-operation inspections, understanding conveyors, haul trucks and related tasks, and a rotating schedule of nights and days.

Qualifications

• Perform preop inspections on all pieces of equipment and machinery prior to use.
• SKILLS – 8 OF 11 ARE REQUIRED. OF THE 8, TRUCKING AND UTILITIES ARE MANDATORY.
• Haul Truck Operation - Demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper heading inspection and preoperational checks; demonstrate the ability to suppress airborne dust; receive muck safely; safe ramp travel; proper muck dumping.
• Conveyor Operation - Demonstrate inspection, pre-operational checks, lock-out/tag-out, identify worn components, PPE, monitor conveyor, clear plugged chutes safely.
• Backfill mixing (Chukar only)
• Slickline (optional) - demonstrate workplace inspection, pre operational checks, safe startup, lock-out/tag out, mixer truck placement, hazard recognition, cleanup.

• Slickline * optional - Demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper workplace inspection - Demonstrate the ability to perform pre operational checks - Demonstrate the safe start up of the slickline - Demonstrate knowledge of the lock-out / tag out procedure - Demonstrates securing and proper placement of the mixer truck - Demonstrate the ability to recognize workplace hazards - Demonstrate the ability to shut down, wash out and clean up slickline safely.
