Job summary

Savannah College of Art and Design is seeking an exhibitions coordinator based in Savannah to join a fast-paced team managing local and international exhibition initiatives. You’ll support installation projects, coordinate materials, and arrange travel for artists and technicians across domestic locations.

You will help maintain spaces, liaise with AV and production teams, and provide operational support to ensure successful exhibitions and related events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 2 years of related experience and training in interior design or production.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project management for exhibition installations.
  • Research, order, and arrange delivery of exhibition installation materials and supplies.
  • Secure approvals and book domestic travel for artist technicians.
  • Provide exhibition installation assistance, storage solutions, and exhibition flip navigation.
  • Maintain and order office space, clean the space, and manage exhibition installation supplies.
  • Arrange building access for contractors and shippers.
  • Collect and deliver paint, vinyl, and other samples for exhibition projects.
  • Reconcile shipping, contractors, and exhibition production component payments.
  • Liaise with production/AV companies for installation.
  • Provide program operational support and coverage.
  • Organize museum storage areas.
  • Assist with program setup, breakdown, and orders.
  • Run errands and assemble gift bags to support the department's success.
  • Work cooperatively with all exhibition teams and departments to ensure smooth operations.

As an exhibitions coordinator based primarily in Savannah, you’ll be part of a fast-paced team that engages local communities through special initiatives of international scope, featuring commissioned works and rotating exhibitions.As hubs for cultural dialogue, SCAD museums engage students through dynamic, interdisciplinary educational experiences.

As part of the exhibitions department, you’ll:

  • Assist with project management for exhibition installations
  • Research, order, and arrange delivery of exhibition installation materials and supplies
  • Secure approvals and book domestic travel for artist technicians
  • Provide exhibition installation assistance, storage solutions, and exhibition flip navigation
  • Maintain and order office space, clean the space, and manage exhibition installation supplies

To support the museum’s mission, you’ll:

  • Arrange building access for contractors and shippers
  • Collect and deliver paint, vinyl, and other samples for exhibition projects
  • Reconcile shipping, contractors, and exhibition production component payments
  • Liaise with production/AV companies for installation
  • Provide program operational support and coverage

You’ll also:

  • Organize museum storage areas

Candidates should be:

  • Highly motivated, positive, and flexible
  • Proactive with outstanding organizational skills
  • Able to work well in a team environment
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of related experience and training in interior design or production
Travel required:
  • Less than 10%
Work hours:

The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
