Job summary

Access in Boston is seeking an experienced Exhibit Builder to support its Production Team Leads with fabrication and assembly of exhibits, booths, cabinets and related components. The builder will complete work submitted through work orders according to established processes while meeting shop quality and safety standards.

You will interpret design drawings, build structural frameworks, and ensure safety and quality while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in construction and cabinetry skills.
• Experience in exhibit production or cabinet making (5–10 years).
• High School diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design drawings, CAD files, and specifications to plan fabrication from concept through setup to show-ready exhibit.
• Build structural frameworks, display cases, interactive components, platforms, and scenic elements from wood, metal, plastics, and other materials.
• Cross-train across production areas and perform precision fabricating techniques including cutting, welding, machining, finishing, painting, laminating, lighting and assembly.
• Construct and set up exhibits on-site with proper alignment, safety, and accessibility compliance.
• Maintain tools and organized work area while following shop safety protocols.
• Deliver work that meets client expectations for quality and reliability.

We are seeking an experienced Exhibit Builder to support our Production Team Leads with the day- to-day fabrication and assembly workload. This role is responsible for creating, assembling, and repairing exhibits, booths, cabinets and related components. The builder will complete work submitted through work orders according to established processes while consistently meeting the shop quality and safety standards.

What you’ll do:

• Interpret design drawings, CAD files, and specifications to plan and execute fabrication from concept through set-up to a show ready exhibit.
• Build structural frameworks, display cases, Interactive components, platforms, and scenic elements using wood, metal, plastics, composites materials, acrylic, and many other types of materials.
• Crosstrain across multiple production areas and perform precision fabricating techniques including cutting, welding, machining, finishing painting, laminating, lighting and assembly.
• Construct and set-up exhibits on-site, ensuring proper alignment, structural integrity, electrical/ mechanical integration (where applicable), and compliance with accessibility and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area while strictly following all shop safety protocols.
• Deliver work that meets or exceeds client expectations for quality, craftsmanship, and reliability.

Qualifications

What we’d love to see:

• Proficiency in construction and cabinetry skills, proficient in the use of all hand and power tools.
• At least one (5) to three (10) years’ experience in exhibit production or cabinet making.
• High School diploma.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as being accountable for individual performance; ability to work under tight deadlines, commitment to highest quality standards.
