Find your calling at Mercy! The exercise technician is responsible for assisting members and guests in meeting physical capacity goals. The person in this position needs to be comfortable in effective positive communication with a varied population. Basic equipment maintenance and cleaning of any and all equipment in the facility is required daily. Assisting with hospital and community health fairs, walks and any other projects. This position requires adherence to a flexible work schedule based on facility usage.

Hours/Schedule

Part-Time (24-hrs per week)

Education: High school diploma.

Preferred Education

• Associate of Arts or Science
• Bachelor's in Health field

Preferred Licensure

• Certified personal trainer

Preferred Experience

• 1-3 years in group exercise or personal training

Preferred Certifications (not Required)

• Nationally accredited certification, e.g.: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, AFAA, Cooper Clinic, etc. CPR.

Other

• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft word and excel.
• General knowledge of anatomy and physiology regarding exercise.

• Requires a personal commitment to a fit and healthy lifestyle (appropriate role model).

Preferred Other

• Ability to lead group classes.
