Mercy Fort Smith Fitness Center seeks an Exercise Technician to assist members in meeting physical capacity goals. You will maintain equipment daily and communicate effectively with a diverse population in a friendly, professional manner.
Responsibilities include helping with health fairs and community events, supporting facility operations, and adapting to a flexible schedule based on facility usage.

Exercise Technician
Part Time
Mercy - Fort Smith - Fitness Center
Education: High school diploma.
(Preferred) Experience: 6 months minimum in some type of customer service industry.
(Preferred) Certifications: CPR-AED Adult Child or above certification.
Other: Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups. Basic understanding of Microsoft word and excel. General knowledge of anatomy and physiology regarding exercise. Understands and practices the institutional Core Values of Dignity, Justice, Stewardship, Compassionate Service and Excellence. Requires a personal commitment to a fit and healthy lifestyle (appropriate role model).
Preferred Education: Associate of Arts or Science, Bachelor\'s in Health field.
Preferred Licensure: Certified personal trainer.
Preferred Experience: 1-3 years in group exercise or personal training.
Preferred Certifications (not Required): Nationally accredited certification, i.e.: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, AFAA, Cooper Clinic, etc. CPR.
Preferred Other: Ability to lead group classes. Ability to write and demonstrate effective weight loss and weight management programs to a wide demographic.
