Optum in the Tri-State region is seeking an Exercise Stress Physiologist / Holter Monitor Analyst to perform diagnostic cardiovascular stress testing, CPET, and pulmonary function testing. You will monitor patients, ensure safety, and prepare holter reports for physician interpretation.

The role requires proficiency with ECG setup, holter analysis software, and adherence to Radiation Safety/ALARA standards, with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Formación

The Exercise Stress Physiologist / Holter Monitor Analyst is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiovascular stress testing examinations for cardiac function and holter monitor report preparation(s). In addition to cardiac testing, the Exercise Physiologist is responsible for performing pulmonary function testing (PFT) using pre and post spirometry and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) to determine lung volume capacity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs a daily visual check of stress testing rooms and equipment for safety and functionality. Troubleshoots all minor equipment problems
• Performs diagnostic checks on AED/Defibrillator equipment
• Properly identifies and achieves target heart rate for each patient undergoing stress testing. Appropriately monitors and stops stress testing based on patient's ECG, verbal, physical and emotional condition and/or physician's order
• Maintains Radiation Safety and ALARA
• Demonstrates proficiency on patient chest prep and ECG placement. Familiarizes patients with tests to be performed and preparation for the test
• Demonstrates proficiency operating Exercise Testing System (ECG and Treadmill/bicycle)
• Monitors and evaluates patient's vital signs and ECG measurements during and post-procedure. Submits all diagnostic information to ordering or reading physician for interpretation
• Knowledgeable in identifying ECG abnormalities
• Assists cardiology staff in connecting holters on patients. Understands and operates holter analysis software for ECG processing. Downloads holter information, scans ECG data for critical results and recognizes artifacts and removes artifacts from patient's holter report
• Prepares and connects respiratory mouthpiece for patient and explains breathing maneuvers prior to commencing testing for pulmonary function testing
• Monitors and evaluates patient's physical and emotional condition during PFT/CPET testing and makes appropriate coaching techniques to obtain a quality study
