Job summary

PAE Government Services Inc. is looking for an Exercise Planner to support SOCPAC in various exercises under USINDOPACOM guidance. This role involves coordinating and managing exercise development, drafting realistic threat scenarios, and consolidating After-Action reports.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, 8 years as a DoW Exercise Planner, and an active Top-Secret clearance. The position may require travel up to 40% of the year.

Amentum – Exercise Planner, Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC)

Assist SOCPAC in exercise planning and execution to support JCS and Service exercises under USINDOPACOM TCP and USSOCOM guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute SOCPAC and component participation in assigned USINDOPACOM JCS and Service exercises.
• Coordinate and manage exercise development with USINDOPACOM and component planners and participants.
• Develop training objectives that meet SOCPAC JMETL requirements.
• Ensure SOCPAC and component exercises integrate with the Defense Readiness Reporting System and the Joint Lessons Learned system.
• Enhance the command’s capability to train for a broad spectrum of threats from real and/or simulated adversaries.
• Assist in coordination with exercise participants and supporters from DoD and non‑DoD organizations.
• Draft realistic threat scenarios and incorporate best‑practice inputs from DoD and other agencies.
• Coordinate exercise criteria to test and stress the command’s training objectives.
• Consolidate and draft After‑Action Reports detailing training objectives, corrections, and COA development.
• Travel up to 40% of the time in one calendar year.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 8 years of experience as a DoW Exercise Planner.
• 2 years of experience in the INDOPACOM AOR.
• 8 years of experience in multi‑disciplined special operations at operational and tactical levels supporting SOF.
• Use of training software and other IT systems associated with exercise planning.
• 5 years of experience in the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead operations across multiple agencies and international partners.
• Excellent oral, written, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage complex tasks with attention to detail.
• Active Top‑Secret security clearance and eligibility for SCI, SAP/STO.
• US citizenship required to obtain Top‑Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• 10 years of experience in the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Advanced Warfighting schools (JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, SAASS).
• Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Level 1 and 2 certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $130,000 – $160,000.
