Job summary

Amentum has an opportunity for an Exercise Planner to support SOCPAC with planning and execution of joint and service exercises. The role requires coordinating with USINDOPACOM, SOCPAC staff, and partners to develop training objectives and ensure alignment with JMETL requirements.

The position entails creating realistic threat scenarios, coordinating with multiple agencies, and drafting AARs. Up to 40% travel may be required and an active TS clearance is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 8 years of DoW Exercise Planner experience.
• 2 years of INDOPACOM AOR experience.
• 8 years of multi-disciplined SOF operations at operational/tactical levels.
• Experience with training software and other IT systems associated with exercise planning.
• 5 years of Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning.
• Ability to coordinate and lead operations across multiple agencies and international partners.
• Excellent oral, writing, and coordination skills.
• Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI, SAP/STO eligible.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute SOCPAC and component participation in USINDOPACOM JCS and Service exercises.
• Coordinate and manage exercise development in conjunction with USINDOPOM and component planner and participants; develop training objectives that meet SOCP JMETL requirements.
• Ensure SOCPAC and component exercises inform the Defense Readiness Reporting System.
• Reporting System and fully incorporate the Joint Lessons Learned system.
• Enhance the command’s capability to train and prepare for a broad spectrum of threats from real and/or simulated adversaries.
• Develop training objectives in conjunction with exercise participants and SOCPAC staff stakeholders.
• Assist in coordination with exercise participants and supporters from other DoD and non-DoD organizations.
• Draft and develop realistic threat scenarios, incorporate best-practice inputs from DoD and other agencies.
• Coordinate exercise criteria to test and stress the command’s training objectives.
• Consolidate and draft AAR related to training objectives, corrections, and COA development.
• Up to 40% travel in one calendar year.

Amentum has an opportunity for an Exercise Planner to support Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC) by exercise planning and execution. This capability will support SOCPAC’s requirement to participate in JCS and Service exercises in support of USINDOPACOM TCP and USSOCOM Commander’s Training and Education guidance requirements. The role demands high-level coordination, planning, and execution, involving interaction with a range of partners and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 8 years of experience as DoW Exercise Planner
• 2 years of experience in INDOPACOM AOR
• 8 years of experience in multi-disciplined special operations at the operational and tactical levels supporting SOF to include:
• Use of training software and other IT systems associated with exercise planning
• 5 years of experience of Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead operations across multiple agencies and international partners.
• Excellent oral, writing, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage complex tasks with attention to detail.
• Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI, SAP/STO eligible.
• Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Top-Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree and 10 years of experience in the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Advanced Warfighting schools (JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, SAASS)
• Joint Professional Military' Education (JPME) level 1 and 2 certifications

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $130K - $160K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
