Job summary

Medicine Journal seeks an Exercise Physiologist for the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department to design and supervise exercise programs in collaboration with the medical director. Orientation and continuing education will be provided to develop knowledge and skills relevant to this role.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in exercise or related field, BLS and ACLS certifications, and preferred ACSM-CEP/EP or equivalent experience in clinical cardiac/pulmonary rehab settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise or related field is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification is required prior to unit/department assignment.
• ACSM-CEP or ACSM-EP certification is preferred.
• Clinical/cardiac or pulmonary rehab experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop exercise prescriptions and design programs for rehab and wellness patients.
• Supervise exercise programs in consultation with medical director.
• Evaluate patient responses to exercise and adjust prescriptions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the rehabilitation population.

Department Position Summary

Duties include developing exercise prescriptions and designing appropriate programs for the population served in the rehab and wellness department. Must be able to demonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, diagnosis, and status of the patients. Must be able to evaluate patient's response to exercise and respond accordingly. Must have excellent communication skills to work with the population served.
