Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an Exercise Physiologist (EP) to join the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab team in Leesburg, VA. This full-time, day-shift role supports the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program with focus on exercise prescription, patient education, and collaborative care among the health team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology/Science/Kinesiology and a set of AHA certifications with timelines, plus preference for rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, or kinesiology.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS within 6 months.
• ACSM CEP certification within 12 months.
• AACVPR CCRP certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Develops exercise prescription and risk modification per program standards.
• Develops Individual Treatment Plans and patient education for optimal outcomes.
• Instructs proper exercise technique to ensure safety and adherence.
• Reports significant changes in patient status to health team and assists with emergencies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Exercise Physiologist (EP) to join our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab team. This role is Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday

Exercise Physiologist Job Responsibilities:

• Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.
• Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans. • Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.
• Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association within 6 months; Certified Exercise Physiologist from American College of Sports Medicine - Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM CEP) for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab within 12 months; or Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation - Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (AACVPR CCRP) for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab within 12 months

Preferred Qualification:

• Clinical experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehab
