Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs all aspects of the EP position under direction of a Cardiologist. This includes but is not limited to, the following: taking an accurate history from patient and extracting relevant medical information from their medical chart; start an IV to administer stress or contrast agents; prep patients for stress testing; conduct stress and pharmacological testing; and support other modalities as necessary. Maintains a positive working environment for our patients and staff.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors or master's degree in Exercise Physiology and BLS / ACLS certified required. Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

At least one year experience as an exercise physiologist performing cardiac stress tests. Demonstrates 12 lead ECG Interpretation skills.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Strong oral and written communication skills. Effective listening skills. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work collaboratively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. physicians, Nuclear Technologists and Cardiac Sonographers etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for problem solving with a keen sense of attention to detail.
