Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to conduct cardio-vascular testing and pulmonary rehab for adults and seniors. You will assess histories, design exercise prescriptions, and guide patients through rehabilitation while documenting responses per AACVPR guidelines.

Required: Bachelor's in Exercise Science or related field and CPR certification. Master's degree and ACLS/ACSM credentials are preferred. Typical hours are 6 a.m.–3 p.m., with no weekend or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology preferred.
• ACLS certification and ACSM-EP/CEP certifications preferred.
• Pulmonary Rehabilitation certification AACVPR/AARC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardio-vascular testing and pulmonary rehabilitation sessions for adult and geriatric patients.
• Assess medical history, perform tests, and formulate exercise prescriptions.

Responsibilities

The Exercise Physiologist provides safe and effective Cardio-vascular testing or Pulmonary Rehabilitation sessions for adult and geriatric patients with chronic respiratory and comorbid conditions. Conducts assessment, reviews medical history and tests, formulates exercise prescription, guides and motivates patients through rehabilitation sessions, and observes and documents response to therapy while adhering to scope and standards of practice according to American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) guidelines.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:1. Graduation from an accredited exercise physiology program with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or equivalent. 2. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). PREFERRED:1. Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent. 2. Six (6) months experience in Cardiac/Pulmonary rehab involving the exercise treatment of patients. 3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS). 4. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP). 5. Certificate in Pulmonary Rehabilitation AACVPR/AARC preferred.
