Job description

Exercise Physiologist (Schedule: PRN, pay differential: 8%) – responsible for identifying physiological mechanisms of physical activity and applying expertise to improve health and fitness of individuals, including rehabilitation for heart disease, chronic diseases, disabilities, and overall wellness.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess physiological responses to physical activity.
• Design, implement, and monitor personalized exercise programs focused on rehabilitation for chronic conditions and overall fitness improvement.
• Provide professional guidance and counseling for athletes and individuals engaged in sports training.
• Assist in rehabilitating patients with cardiovascular diseases, chronic illnesses, or physical disabilities.
• Promote human adaptability to acute and chronic exercise conditions.
• Educate patients and clients on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle choices that enhance health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, health & fitness, corporate wellness or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience implementing wellness programs, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, or group exercise leadership and experience in patient assessment, exercise testing, exercise prescription, exercise training and leadership, education and behavior change, and legal and professional considerations.
• Proficiency in utilizing effective coaching techniques.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

• American College of Sports Medicine – Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACMS-CEP) or equivalent.
• ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM‑EP) or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
