Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center seeks an Exercise Physiologist to lead exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary patients, collaborating with physicians and staff to design, implement, and evaluate safe and effective rehab plans.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, and discharge planning within the cardiopulmonary rehab team. Requires BS in Exercise Science; BLS/ACLS certification; experience preferred in cardiac rehab.

Qualifications

• 3 years cardiac/pulmonary rehab experience (Preferred).
• BS in Exercise Science or related field is required.
• MS in Exercise Science or related field (Preferred).
• American Heart Association BLS & ACLS (Required).
• ACSM Exercise Specialist/Health Fitness Instructor (Preferred).

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Develop and implement Exercise Prescription for cardiac patients and healthy individuals.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for the exercise programs for all cardiac and pulmonary patients. This will be accomplished through the input of physicians and staff. This exercise design includes implementation, evaluation, monitoring and teaching. This will be accomplished by being part of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team. Perform exit interviews and assists in discharge planning of patients.

What you will do in this role:

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Assists patients to maintain necessary lifestyle changes for improved health
• Develops and implements Exercise Prescription for patients with Cardiac Disease based upon indications and contraindications for this population
• Develops and implements Exercise Prescription for healthy individuals
• Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in clinical exercise physiology
• Educate patients and family on risk factors of CAD and how to control or modify risks
• Works with a multidisciplinary staff to assure appropriate exercise and clinical goals are achieved
• Maintain performance improvement activities within department
• Meets current documentation standards and policies
• Assists and participates in development and operation of new service areas
• Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team.
• Provides community education when appropriate.

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 159-bed facility providing quality healthcare to Sumner and surrounding counties for more than 45 years.
