Job summary

Prisma Health's Wellness - Springbrook seeks a dedicated fitness instructor to lead group exercise classes at Blount Memorial Hospital. You will create a safe, fun and effective class structure, supporting and promoting the wellness center both internally and externally.

Responsibilities include guiding diverse fitness levels, staying current with certifications, and contributing to program marketing and a clean environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a similar setting preferred.
• CPR/AED certification is required.
• Nationally recognized fitness certification preferred.

Job Summary

Leads exercise classes for various fitness levels, providing a safe, fun and effective class structure in a professional, friendly and motivating manner. Supports and promotes the wellness center both internally and externally.

Essential Functions

• All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
• Conducts group exercise classes: Follows Industry guidelines and standards on safe, approved exercises. Modifies classes based on skill level and health status. Motivates and encourages at all classes. Promotes the philosophy of cross training and encourages members to explore all types of classes offered at the wellness center. Attempts to know members by name and takes a professional interest in their health goals. Arrives 10 minutes early and stays 10 minutes after class.
• Handles inquiries regarding the exercise classes. Presents professionalism, assists in program marketing and promotes a clean environment.
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Prisma Health mission to ensure high quality service: Maintains confidentiality of member information, facilitates, initiates and implements change. Works as a positive team member with members and staff to help resolve problems. Conforms to legal and ethical requirements and supports Prisma Health safety and health policies.
• Enhances professional growth and development: Maintains current certifications. Stays current on industry advances through professional applications and ongoing literature and in-services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience - One (1) year of experience in a similar setting preferred
