How You Will Create An Impact
  • Exercise judgment, negotiate, and make sound business decisions effectively with increased authority.
  • Provide alternative outcomes for complex situations and make real-time decisions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Support consistent underwriting practices in line with guidelines to ensure proper rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring.
  • Manage and assign work to a team of underwriters.
  • Assist underwriters with strategic initiatives, system issues, guidelines, training, reports, new projects, and product amendments.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Monitor adherence to underwriting requirements using daily reports to oversee your book of business.
  • Stay informed about developments in your territories to identify new business opportunities.
  • Work with management, clients, brokers, and legal counsel on contract terms, pricing, and deal structures for complex risks.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to grow your book profitably.
  • Manage special underwriting projects as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to brokers and clients.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Commercial Insurance, Agency, or Brokerage.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge of NA Casualty lines, including product features, forms, regulations, and risks.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, and relationship management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, changing environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Willingness to learn on the job and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Expertise in underwriting analytical tools and technology.

Note: For positions based in New York City, the salary range is $105,000-$148,000, with eligibility for a bonus. A comprehensive benefits summary is available in the 2025 Benefits Summary.
