Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Vice President, Total Rewards to shape and evolve our compensation, equity, benefits, and career frameworks. You’ll translate market insights into actionable programs that reward impact and value.

You’ll partner with the Chief People Officer and the Board, lead a high-performing Total Rewards team, and drive rigorous financial modeling and governance in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Total Rewards including broad-based compensation, equity programs, and benefits strategy.
• Ability to connect market and talent data to strategic program design.
• Experience working with a Compensation Committee and a Board.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Exceptional executive presence and communication abilities.
• Proven change leadership in large organizations.
• Operational rigor with strong controls and governance.
• Champions a high-performance culture at AppFolio.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Total Rewards strategy aligned to talent and business goals.
• Partner on executive compensation strategy and board governance.
• Shape a multi-year benefits strategy addressing plan design and funding.
• Lead pay equity analyses and governance across Total Rewards programs.
• Empower leaders with clear, data-driven pay decision frameworks.
• Build and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team spanning compensation, benefits, and executive & equity compensation.
• Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, and People Operations to align with 3YP and talent strategy.
