Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a seasoned communications writer to research, write and edit speeches, remarks and related content for the Office of the President, Provost and senior university officials.

You will lead development of content and graphics for executive presentations, stay current on campus events and rankings, and coordinate with event teams to ensure accurate, on-site delivery of messages.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with seven years of related experience.
Research, write and edit communications for the President/Provost.
Develop slide decks and presentations and coordinate with events teams.

Responsibilities

Researches, writes and edits communications for the President and the Provost.
Assists executives in preparation for speeches, talking points and questions.
Keeps abreast of campus events, current events, and copyright laws to ensure accuracy of communications.
Attends meetings and events with senior university officials.
Leads development of slide decks and materials for executive speeches and priority initiatives.
Coordinates with event contacts on logistics and audio-visual matters for speeches and presentations.
Maintains awareness of institutional rankings and data.
Performs other duties as assigned.
