Job summary

FWI (FedWriters, Inc.) seeks a Speech Writer to support USSTRATCOM Commander’s public engagements at Offutt AFB. You will draft speeches, abstracts, and remarks, conduct event research, and coordinate with Public Affairs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, history, or political science and at least six years' experience, with preference for ten years at senior levels. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, history, or political science.
• Six years of experience in speechwriting or related executive communications.
• Experience supporting senior leaders (elected officials, corporate leaders, or generals) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare up to 60-minute speeches for USSTRATCOM Senior Leadership.
• Provide abstracts, outlines, and background information for review.
• Interview senior leader to capture direction for speeches.
• Draft articles for local and national periodicals.
• Draft remarks, talking points, and toasts for senior leadership.
• Maintain an indexed archive of speeches and coordinate public release.
