Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living is seeking an Executive Sous Chef in Fort Lauderdale, FL to lead hands-on meal preparation and partner with the Chef Manager and dining teams. You will help recruit and mentor culinary staff, implement high-quality dining programs, and foster guest satisfaction in a restaurant-style setting.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College, technical school and/or training in Food Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years cooking experience with progressive responsibility in a restaurant, hotel or high volume cooking environment.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as the needs of the dining program require.
  • Demonstrated successful use of technology in the workplace including MS Office and POS.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community.

  • Oversee food service compliance in the absence of the Chef Manager while ensuring exceptional quality and productivity by effectively scheduling and coordinating kitchen staff operations.
  • Ensure recipe consistency and adherence to company standards while showcasing culinary creativity for special event menu planning as needed.
  • Drive resident and guest satisfaction through clear communication, superior meal preparation, and outstanding dining service.
  • Complete weekly food orders, prepare meals daily as needed, and prepare production schedules
  • Build a positive workplace culture by training employees in safety protocols, food handling, and kitchen cleanliness, while applying company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align with organizational goals.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, staff scheduling and task delegation.

As the Executive Sous Chef, you will be hands-on with meal preparation as needed, working closely with the Chef Manager, front of house and back of house teams to ensure the hospitality oriented dining program consistently exceeds resident and guest expectations. You will assist with selection, training and growing culinary talent within our state-of-the-art kitchen and develop lasting relationships with residents and guests in our restaurant style dining room. Supported by our experienced Regional and Corporate teams, youll help cultivate a culture of collaboration and excellence in dining and hospitality.
