Flik Independent School Dining at The Waterford School in Sandy, UT is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to partner with the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, supervise hourly staff, and ensure high-quality scratch cooking for a K-12 community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of dynamic culinary/kitchen management in high-volume foodservice.
• Strong catering experience and ability to lead events.
• Knowledge of scratch cooking, batch production, and food cost controls.
• Understanding of food trends, seasonal ingredients, and sustainability.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and related tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership with ownership mindset.
• Commitment to delivering nutritious meals for students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and supervision of back-of-house staff.
• Support cost control with inventory management and ordering.
• Plan and implement menus aligned with culinary standards and nutritional guidelines.
• Lead or support catered events with high quality food and presentation.
• Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with the executive team.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation following HACCP and allergy protocols.
